Cash in Transit Training (CIT)in Tembisa :
This course is designed to provide trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge for the safe and secure transportation of money, valuables and assets. Participants will gain an understanding of all relevant regulations and guidelines in cash in transit operations as well as methods of prevention, deterrence, security measures and handling incidents.

Objectives:
• To introduce participants to the legal requirements pertaining to Cash In Transit (CIT) operations

• To understand effective security planning procedures

• To be aware of the responsibilities, dangers and hazards involved with CIT

• To demonstrate efficient vehicle checking procedures

• To have the ability to handle hazardous or volatile situations in a professional manner

• To be able to manage risk in order to mitigate loss


Training Course Outline:
1. Introduction to Cash in Transit – Overview of industry standards & regulations governing CIT; Overview of roles & responsibilities; Identification & mitigation of risks; Emergency response & evacuation plan.
2. Security Planning – Security systems & technology; Procedures for performing security checks on employees, vehicles & premises; Principles for monitoring CCTV surveillance footage; Maintenance schedule for all safety devices.
3. Route Planning – Site selection; Route assessment & planning considerations; Standard operational procedure for planning routes including multi-drops.
4. Incident Management – Recognizing and managing violent customer behaviour, intimidation techniques & defensive tactics used by assailants; Guidelines for reacting during high risk/potential hijackings/robberies & armed assaults; Protocols related to vehicle checkpoints & police cooperation when necessary.
5. Crisis Communications – Procedures regarding critical incident notifications; Escalation procedures; Key contact lists & protocol checklists; Introduction to communication protocols that involve third parties like alarm companies, police etc.
6. Training Practicum – Review of applicable laws and legislation applicable when responding during emergency events such as robbery, assault or hijacking scenarios; Understanding crime prevention techniques like route analysis, personnel profiling and threat assessment as part of a proactive security strategy; Conducting mock robbery scenarios including de-escalation drills involving use-of-force or negotiation tactics in order to mitigate loss or injury in real life circumstances when confronted by armed assailants/robbers.

Certification: Upon successful completion of this course participants will receive a Certificate of Completion from the accredited provider stating their competency levels achieved in accordance with national qualifications framework guidelines set out by SAQA (South African Qualifications Authority).
